  • The Plan stage includes the two documents people are most familiar with, the Will and the Trust. In addition, this stage also includes two additional documents that are equally important, the Power of Attorney, and the Advanced Healthcare Directive.
  • The Prepare stage is critical because this is where you surround yourself with professionals who can review your documents and support what you have planned.
  • Last is the Protect stage. This stage is critically important and often overlooked. Once you create your estate plan and have everything in place, you need to communicate and share it with the people in your life. Make sure your loved ones know you have everything in place and have defined your wishes in a formal document that protects you, and them.
